About Flashing12
Flashing12 is a venture launched by Marshall Sitten and John Johnson in 2006. Together we have more than 20 years of experience in communications and technology issues, and have helped organizations of all sizes meet their technology goals, guiding clients through periods of change, growth and crisis.
The name "Flashing12" is an old technologist's joke -- and like all technologists' jokes, this one comes at the expense of the users. A "Flashing 12" is a person who is so overwhelmed by technology that they are not even able to set the clocks on their appliances -- so they arrive home every day greeted by a flashing "12:00" in every room in the house.
Our name means more to us than just a chance to poke fun at those who need our services (though it is very much that); it's our ode to the notion that while we all rely upon technology to enhance the quality of our work and our lives, we are all surrounded by reminders of how frustrating and difficult technology can be to use.
